King’s Coronation

Memories from May 7th The Kings Coronation celebration.

On May 7th the community came together to celebrate the King’s Coronation, families came to the recreation ground for “The Big Lunch”, families bought a picnic or purchased food and drink from the vendors that joined us for the event. The weather shone and it was lovely to see so many people having lots of fun in the sun. We were entertained throughout the day with music from The Harleston Breakfast Show with Dave Hoffman.

We had a well-attended dog show, with fun entries: the waggiest tail, the best trick, best rescue, prettiest dog, scruffiest dog, best dressed, best child handler, golden oldie, and best in show. The family fun dog show was sponsored by Lisa North Photography with the best in show winner receiving a free photo shoot! The Town Council will be putting on another dog show again soon.

Families were entertained by our stilt walkers Zeb and Lisa who looked very Royal in their King and Queen outfits!

Maddie’s Magical Moments attended and carried out facepainting, glitter tattoos, and the FX fake wounds went down a storm!

Bubblemania was yet again a massive hit with the children, so simple yet so much fun.  Thank you to Carl and his team for their involvement.

We were joined by USA Sweet Sensation, Jim’s Ice cream vans. The Flying Chef with hotdogs, The Wonky Donkey Mobile Bar, Coffee Cakes and Bakes and Elsies pizzas.
